Waswasah/Cleanliness

Q:

Assalam alaikum. I am suffering from waswasah and am trying to clean as possible, but I am scared of spreading filth when Im not even sure if the filth exists. Would you agree if an impurity on an object cannot be seen, smelled, or felt, then the object is pure? Please be as specific when answering this, and cite any supporting texts. This would help me greatly. I am trying to ignore the waswasah, but Im afraid Im not doing the right thing. I know Islam is a religion of ease. Thank you, and may Allah bless all of us, ameen.

Waalaykum Salam

Waswasah can drive a person into a vicious circle with no end. To combat it however, you have to let go of your doubts and rule the particular thing or act as clean or correct respectively.
