Methodologies in History

Submitted by Anonymous on Fri, 12/15/2017 - 17:30

I pray all is well Inshallah.

I write to you to ask the following questions concerning methodological approaches to the study of history within the Shi'ah school of thought. I am currently a student of history at university and some of these questions are ones I have been struggling with for a while.

1. What is the position taken by the Shi'ah school in relation to postmodern forms of analysis in the study of history?

2. Do we possess a codified Shi'ah approach to historiography?

Why did Habeel & Qabeel fight? What was the reason Qabeel killed Habeel? And how did the generation continue?

Please send me the answer along with the proper refrences of different shia books. JazakALLAH.

i wanted to ask shias regard imam Hussian a.s as high and call themselves as imam Hussain's supporter and try to follow his footstep. Imam Hussein did not bow down to yazid or pretend to become his follower even when his life was in danger, so why do shias believe that if their life is in danger they can pretend to be an follower from another religion or become Sunni? isn't that going against imam hussains a.s teachings?

Please guide me if what it says is true ? I do not want to hold any false beliefs and get my Iman in danger. JazakAllah.

Questions about the Islamic Revolution of 1979

Submitted by Anonymous on Mon, 02/08/2016 - 16:36

There were many acts of violence committed during the Islamic Revolution of 1979. I have heard first hand from someone that escaped with their family (they are of the Baha'i faith) that individuals and families that did not convert were killed.

1. Is this true? How do we respond to allegations that the Shia are violent and are taught to kill all non-believers?

2. What is the Shia perspective on the violence during the Islamic Revolution. Was it all justified?
