Abortion

Q:

Assalamualaikum. I m the only person working (earning) and taking responsibilities of my 3 children aged below 8 years. I just got to know 3 days ago that I am pregnant We were not at all prepared for the 4th child. As if I continue this pregnancy I also have to work and after some months I also have to sit at home and once the baby is born I also have to take care of him/her.and for that I will only get 6months leave and after that my husband is completely denying to help in taking care of my child and some how due to few reasons he doesn't earn and I cannot rely on my kids to take care of help me with the new born. I want to ask can I get this pregnancy aborted. Also if I stop earning some how our family will be into so many troubles as we are not financially stable and also my pregnancy isn't the smooth running. I always had problems with my health and etc.. Is there any possibility in Islam to get the child aborted in the 4 weeks of pregnancy. Please reply as soon as possible

Salaam Sister.
Thank you for sending your question. This shows that you are concerned and passionate to know Islams opinion on this matter and that its important for you to find out if Allahs pleasure lies in what you want to do which is very admirable.
On one hand I would like to say that I can understand (being a mother of 3 myself) that it is very very hard for a woman to be doing her house chores, taking care of the children and earning outside.
But on the other hand, you being a strong believer in Allah, and Allahs pleasure matters for you should always have this in mind that Allah is the sole provider and the sustenance of everyone and everuthing He creates is on Him.  And as He says in sura Hud/6:

وَمَا مِنْ دَابَّةٍ فِی الْأَرْضِ إِلَّا عَلَی اللَّهِ رزق‌ها وَیَعْلَمُ مُسْتَقَرَّهَا وَمُسْتَوْدَعَهَا غڑ کُلٌّ فِی کِتَابٍ مُبِینٍ
There is no animal on the earth, but that its sustenance lies with Allah, and He knows its(enduring) abode and its temporary place of lodging. Everything is in a manifest book.

And Allah always keeps His promises as it is said in sura Baqarah/80

فَلَنْ یُخْلِفَ اللّهُ عَهْدَهُ
Allah will never break His promise.

And now He wants to give you one of His beautiful gifts and blessings. If someone gifts you something, would you thankfully take the gift or would you crush it and throw it back to the person who gave the gift with so much love?

According to islam, Abortion is not allowed after the implantation of the [fertilized] ovum [on the lining of the womb], except if the mother’s life is in danger or the continuation of pregnancy will cause extreme difficulty for her that is not normally bearable (as in extreme and intolerable hardship) and there is no other solution but abortion. In this case, it would be permissible to abort the foetus before the soul enters the foetus and after the soul has entered, it is not permissible.
In your situation, it does not seem to be a life and death situation. Sometimes Allah tests us to see how much trust we have in Him.  In life you must have gone through alot and you know difficulties come but if you ponder over them you will see that after every difficulty there is ease. For every door He closes (if you put your trust in Him), He will open 10 doors for you.
Please sister its come in the ahadith that when women are pregnant, their prayers are accepted, please do remember us in your prayers.
